Air Wing airlifts three men to hospital following collision at sea


(MENAFN- Emirates News Agency (WAM)) The Abu Dhabi Police air ambulance yesterday airlifted three men to hospital after their boat collided with a breakwater at Al Raha Beach in Abu Dhabi, which led to the death of the driver.

Air operations responded to a call yesterday morning invloving nine workers and immediately dispatched the air ambulance to join on-site emergency teams including ambulance and police. Three workers with injuries classified as moderate were taken to hospital, while medical care was provided for the others at the site of the accident.

Brigadier General pilot Ali Mohammed Mazrui, Director, Air Wing, Abu Dhabi Police, urged sea goers to check the weather, inform the concerned authorities both before departure and after return, carry safety and security items, particularly life jackets, a GPS device, and a communication device, and to report any emergency, if necessary, to search and rescue operations.
