(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 19: In compliance with the directive of Interior Ministry''s Assistant Undersecretary for Public Security Abdul-Fatah Al-Ali; several security teams conducted surprise inspection campaigns in Kabad Wafra and Jahra. These campaigns resulted in the arrest of 28 young motorists who performed car stunts on the road and their cars were referred to the Impounded Vehicles Garage.
Apparently the youths went out to perform car stunts to see how their cars could withstand slip of tyres after rainfall. Meanwhile the Security Directorate of the Ahmadi Governorate during a crackdown on reckless motorists and violators of law has issued 413 citations against reckless drivers and impounded their vehicles says a press release issued by the Ministry of Interior.
During the security campaign police have also issued citations and seized 53 vehicles from motorists for reckless driving in residential areas and at road intersections. The press release said 360 other citations were issued in other areas of the Ahmadi Governorate following an extensive security campaigns and in response to reports received by the Interior Ministry''s Operations Room. In a bid to restore safety and security on the roads and protect the road users from reckless motorists the concerned authority has affirmed that it will continue with security campaigns and dealing instantly with every report received by the Operations Room arrest the violators and refer them to the concerned authorities.
Meanwhile the Security Media Department has stressed on the role that parents and guardians can play to educate and monitor their children in spite of the department''s efforts to organize awareness campaigns concerning security and traffic affairs. The media department said parents and guardians should live up to their responsibility of eradicating some negative behavior of their children.
