AFESD chief meets Tunisian PM on development projects


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Director General of the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) Abdullateef Al-Hamad met Tunisian Prime Minister Habib Essid, to explore ways for closer cooperation in the implementation of new development projects.

During the meeting Al-Hamad promised that the Fund will mull the possibility of funding the projects recently proposed by Tunisia in the areas of infrastructure and water conservation, according to a statement by Essid's office.

Kuwait-based AFESD will send a technical mission to Tunisia to assess these projects and discuss their feasibility studies, the statement said.

On his part, Essid underlined the need to acceleration the measures to finance these projects, saying that these projects will have a great impact on the socio-economic development in Tunisia.

The meeting gathered also Minister of Agriculture Water Resources and Fisheries Saad Seddik, Minister of Equipment, Housing and Territory Development Mohammad Salah Arfaoui and Secretary of State for International Co-operation Amal Azzouz.
