Security ops nail Russian expat


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 22: A Russian national was nailed by security officers for trafficking in alcohol and 345 bottles of exotic liquor were confiscated from his possession. An Interior Ministry press release said the Drug Control General Department was tipped-off about the activities of the suspect and he was placed under surveillance by detectives until the information was confirmed. Armed with search and arrest warrant from the Public Prosecution the officers raided the apartment of the suspect and also conducted a search inside his car where they recovered 345 bottles of imported liquor. He admitted ownership of the contraband but claimed they were for his personal use. He was referred with the contraband to concerned authorities.

''70 armed robberies'': Police have arrested an unidentified Jordanian youth for committing more than 70 armed robberies and referred him to the Criminal Investigations Department reports Al-Anba daily. According to a security source the Farwaniya police suspected the behavior of the 21-year-old youth a resident of Sulaibiya while parking his car in Andalus. During interrogation he gave varying reasons for being in the area which prompted police suspicion. After police found in his car a pistol women''s handbags and cell phones he admitted to robbing people at gunpoint and admitted to committing more than 70 crimes in various parts of the country.
