Saudi- Alwaleed Greek envoy discuss economic issues
(MENAFN- Arab News) Prince Alwaleed bin Talal chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) received Greek Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ioannis Christofilis at his office in Riyadh.
The prince and the ambassador discussed a number of general local and regional issues and the global economic climate. Furthermore Christofilis bid farewell to the prince as he had come to the end of his term as Greek ambassador to Saudi Arabia.
Earlier this year Prince Alwaleed received at his office Notis Mitarachi Greek vice minister for development and competitiveness and an accompanying delegation. Mitarachi stated that his government warmly welcomes the prince to further invest in Greece and explore investment opportunities there.
In May 2014 Prince Alwaleed attended the Second Greek EU Presidency Conference Europe and the Arab World: Strengthening political business and investment ties in Athens as a keynote speaker during his visit to Greece.
Prince Alwaleed''s keynote speech was on a topic related to the strengthening of European-Arab relations. The conference was held under the auspices of the Hellenic Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the League of Arab States in Athens and took place at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Hotel Athens.
During his visit to Greece Prince Alwaleed met with Prime Minister Samaras of Greece and representatives of the Greek government in Athens. During their meeting Prince Alwaleed and Samaras discussed the warm friendship between Saudi Arabia and Greece and referred to a number of economic and social issues. The meeting also touched upon the world''s latest economic developments.
Prince Alwaleed congratulated Greece and its government for improving the status of its economy which is expected to witness positive growth in 2014. The prince said that there were clear signs that the recession will subside to make room for economic growth.
