Lafarge, Holcim conclude their merger deal

(MENAFN) Lafarge and Holcim said that they had filled the gaps that had threatened to collapse their merger to create the world's biggest cement firm, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Last year, the two firms announced plans to create a cement titan employing more than 130,000 people, which would generate annual sales of USD34 billion and profits of USD7 billion.

"The Boards of Directors of Holcim and Lafarge are pleased to announce that they have reached an agreement on revised terms for the merger of equals between both companies," they said in a joint statement.
