Iran's South Pars Phase 12 to increase GDP 3 percent


(MENAFN) The largest phase of Iran's South Pars gas field, which is known as the phase 12, was officially installed by the Iranian President last week, Tehran Times reported.

Speaking to the inaugural ceremony, the president said the government puts great emphasis on the policies of resistance economy, the Mehr news agency reported.

Phase 12 will bring in USD10 billion annually, accounting for 3 percent of the GDP and injecting about 75 million cubic meters of gas into the national gas network per annum.

The Iranian gas field, which is divided into 29 phases, contains 14 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, about 8 percent of the world's reserves, and more than 18 billion barrels of LNG resources.
