Two more arrested in Dubai's deadly armed clash

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Dubai Police have arrested two brothers of the prime suspect in the armed clash between two groups in Al Warqa area that left a 25-year-old Emirati dead and two others critically injured. The two suspects were arrested in Al Ain.

According to the police, an Indian domestic help had informed them about the clash at 1.20am on Monday.

The police have learned that the prime suspect, Kh.D., tricked the deceased, identified as Adnan Abdul Majeed, a Dubai Customs employee, and two of his friends into meeting him on the pretext of settling a dispute they had since childhood.

Police said Kh.D. dragged the deceased and his friends to his house in Al Warqa 4 area, where the former and 12 of his friends poured acid on them and attacked them with swords and knives.

Investigations also revealed that the three victims fell into a ditch while fleeing the attack, where the suspects allegedly attacked them again with swords.

Kh.D. was acquitted of a murder charge just two months ago by a Dubai court for lack of evidence. He was arrested on March 17 last year along with four others for the murder of a compatriot outside a hotel bar in Al Qusais area.
