Iranian ''innocent'' 52 bottles of liquor seized


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT March 20: The Misdemeanor Section in the Court of Appeals chaired by Judge Salman Al-Suwait overturned the verdict of a lower court which convicted an Iranian man in absentia of beating three Kuwaitis who insulted him. The man was then declared innocent. The defendant''s counsel Attorney En''am Haider argued the plaintiffs could not prove the allegation against her client. She said her client had traffic-related dispute with the plaintiffs during which they publicly insulted and abused him.

Police have arrested an unidentified Asian for bootlegging and seized from him 52 bottles booze reports Annahar daily. According to security sources a police patrol spotted the suspect near a building in Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and two paper cartons next to him.
