Queries

Meanwhile MP Abdul- Rahman Al-Jeeran has forwarded queries to the Minister of Communications and State Minister for Municipality Affairs Issa Al-Kandari on the allegations of violation in the law of Supporting National Manpower and Encouraging Citizens to Work in the Private Sector. He said a recent report showed that departments under the ministry had violated Law No. 19/2000 concerning Supporting National Manpower and Encouraging Citizens to Work in the Private Sector by appointing persons in government jobs without announcing about these jobs in the newspapers or announcing titles and conditions of these jobs and criteria that are followed in the appointments and other regulations transparency and good competition that guarantee equality among citizens. He asked the minister if appointments were made in the ministry without complying with the above-mentioned regulations.

If the answer is yes if that happened with the knowledge of the ministry and which body was responsible for the appointments and what are the names of the officials responsible for that? He also wants to know what action was taken against the wrongdoers and the measures taken to put things in correct order. On another issue MP Mohammed Nasser Al-Barrak presented a proposal demanding the Public Authority for Agricultural Affairs and Fish Resources (PAAAFR) to pay a monthly financial support to animal breeders KD 4 for each camel and KD 2 for each sheep or goat. He explained the animal resource is one of the most important resources for meat milk and wool and a source of income for many animal breeders especially those with limited income but very unfortunately the breeders have started to migrate with their cattle to neighboring countries due to high price of fodder hording of fodder by traders in addition to lack of breeding places and also lack of having support to help the continuation of breeding cattle which can raise the cost of meat and milk and affect consumers.
