Saudi- Fraudster faces probe for ''turning paper into dollars''
(MENAFN- Arab News) Jeddah police are continuing their investigation into an African fraudster who was recently arrested by the Department of Criminal Investigation for scamming a number of people.
Makkah police spokesman Lt. Col. Ati bin Atiya Al-Qurashi said the African national deliberately defrauded people by creating counterfeit dollars. He said authorities found a bag of counterfeit money in his possession as well as a black liquid substance and powder.
Despite attempts to escape security teams in Jeddah successfully ambushed him and arrested him.
The Department of Criminal Investigation has been following up with establishments visited by the individual especially luxury hotels where he targeted guests and convinced them he could more than double their income by pouring the substance on paper and turning it into real money.
The individual was identified after a security officer claimed to be interested in his offer and asked for a demonstration.
