''Deportation'' for driving sans licence


(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 9: The Ministry of Interior is planning to issue a decision to deport any person caught driving without a licence reports Al-Rai daily quoting knowledgeable security sources. Security sources said decision that is expected to be taken in future is because many expatriate residing in the country drive without a license because the penalty is no more than KD 30 fine.

The sources pointed out the new decision is taken in the best interest of the citizens and residents and to partly solve the traffic congestion frequent accidents that claim lives and injuries because of reckless driving by people some of whom do not hold a driver''s licence.

Kilo of ''Ice'' seized from Egyptian

Anti-narcotic men arrested an Egyptian in possession of a kilogram of illicit drug known as Ice based on the efforts of General Drug Control Department to rid the country of drug trafficking. Sources said the department got wind of the activities of the suspect and assigned undercover agents keep tab on him until the information was confirmed. They raided his residence and recovered the contraband. He was referred to drug prosecution after admitting ownership of the drug
