48th Cairo International Fair kicks off


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) Egypt's Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab on Wednesday opened the 48th Cairo International Fair, one of the leading commercial events in the Middle East and Africa.

Kuwait's charge d'affaires in Cairo counselor Mohammad Al-Mohammad attended the opening ceremony.

The UAE was announced as the guest of honor of the Fair's 2015 session.
Some 11 countries and about 700 Egyptian, Arab and foreign companies are taking part in the 18-27 March fair held under "Forum for the Love of Egypt," Egypt Expo and Convention Autority (EECA), organizer of the event, said.

The fair, held on a total area of 600 square meters, is a major event that contributes to bolstering economic and trade ties with other countries, Minister of Industry, Trade and Small and Medium Size Enterprises (SMEs), Mounir Fakhry Abdel-Nour said.

He added that establishing a strong fair and exhibition industry is a top priority for his ministry, expecting to attract many regional and international fairs over the coming period.
