(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Rail Co has invited bids to appoint a training management consultant for the proposed Oman Rail Centre of Excellence (OR-CoE).
The documents for the tender which was floated on Monday will be available for collection until March 23.
Oman Rail is planning to set up an institutional framework in the form of the 'Centre of Excellence' to manage human capital development in the country's railway sector. As part of the OR-CoE Oman Rail will support the training and development needs of the industry from the construction of the network to its operation and maintenance.
'Hence Oman Rail wants to engage a consultant to act as a training management consultant tasked with developing the competency standards identifying the training requirements and monitoring the quality of the training delivered for the
construction of the railway network as well as its operation and maintenance' Oman Rail said.
According to the tender the consultant must meet the aspired consultancy services focusing on five key areas: Assessment of training needs and development of respective competency models; definition of required training programmes; preparation of rollout of required training programmes; continuous monitoring of training quality; and continuous support and coordination with key stakeholders.
The companies must have a track record of providing training and/or training supervision services based on international standards to at least three railway companies be registered with authorities in their respective countries and carry professional indemnity insurance.
The final bid submission date is May 3 2015 with the technical tender submission date and the commercial tender submission date set for the same day. The opening of the technical and commercial tenders is the discretion of Oman Rail Co the company added.
