Hong Kong's Cathay Pacific posts USD406m net profit in 2014


(MENAFN) Hong Kong flag carrier Cathay Pacific posted a net profit of USD406 million, marking a 20.2 percent increase but failing to meet expectations, Gulf News reported.

The posted net profit of 2014 marked a 20.2 percent increase over the previous year's figure of USD337.65 million, it said in a filing to the Hong Kong stock exchange.

According to the airline, profits were hit by losses on fuel hedging. However, figures fell short with expectations by analysts from Bloomberg News.
