(MENAFN- Arab Times) KUWAIT CITY March 11: The Public Prosecution released activist Aisha Al-Rushaed on KD 2000 bail after interrogating her on allegation of spreading false news about the country. The Public Prosecution summoned the woman for interrogation concerning an issue raised in her TV program ''The Truth'' (Al-Haqiqah) which was also uploaded on YouTube. She purportedly said that the recent power outage was planned to enable Head of Failaq Al-Quds in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Qasim Sulaimani to sneak into the country. She vehemently denied the allegation.

Citizen cleared in drug case: The Court of Appeals chaired by Advisor Adel Al-Huwaidi cleared a Kuwaiti man of possessing and consuming illicit drug by overturning the previous verdict of First Instance Court that sentenced him to four years imprisonment with hard labor and immediate execution. Defense Attorney Talal Al-Enzi from Dar Al-Salam Group Law Firm argued that the procedures followed in the search and arrest of his client were faulty null and void. According to the prosecution officer he received intelligence that the defendant was loitering near a car in a disoriented state with a substance believed to be illicit drug beside him. Based on the report the officer was prompted to conduct a search on the defendant and subsequently arrested and referred him to concerned authority.

Verdict suspended: Cassation Court presided over by Judge Naif Al-Mutairat suspended the enforcement of a verdict against Editor in- Chief of Alaan electronic newspaper Zayed Al-Zaid until April 7 session in relation to lawsuit filed against him by the Minister of Finance Anas Al-Saleh. Earlier the Appeals Court sentenced Al-Zayed to one week imprisonment with hard labor and acquitted Dr Saad bin Taflah of an article published by the Editor in- Chief.
