East Azarbaijan attracts USD850m in investments


(MENAFN) Director General of Economic Affairs and Finance Department in East Azarbaijan said that the province attracted USD850 million in investments during the past decade, Iran Daily reported.

A total of USD53 million was invested in the province last year, which ranked first in terms of attracting foreign investment despite the sanctions and the obstacles created by the sanctions.

Bushehr province came second in terms of foreign investment in the year to March 2014, in which a total of USD90 million was invested in the power plant, road building, irrigation and refinery sectors.

"Italy is eager to expand cooperation with Iran in the economic, industrial, energy, tourism, science and research sectors," former Italian foreign minister said in a statement.
