Jordan, GCC states health meeting begins in Amman


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) The first meeting of the joint working group between the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states and Jordan in the health sphere began in Amman Wednesday and will last until March 19.

Secretary-General of the Ministry of Health, Daifallah Lozi, said that the first meeting showed the keenness to strengthen the strategic partnership among Gulf countries and Jordan in the field of health.

The spokesman of the Ministry of Health, Hatem Alazraei, said the three-day meeting will discuss the joint action plan project to ensure cooperation between Jordan and GCC in the health field for the coming five years.

He said the project's plan includes topics on human resources and manpower, primary health care and encouraging investment in the health sector, including establishing hospitals, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing medical appliances.

Assistant Secretary-General for Medical Affairs of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) in Qatar, Saleh bin Ali Al Marri, said that this meeting will promote health cooperation between the two sides.

The meeting will focus on cooperation in the areas of surveillance and prevention of communicable diseases, exchange of expertise and quality of health services.
