(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) A 31-year-old jobless has been charged with committing an indecent public act in the Court of First Instance after he allegedly got too close to a woman tourist in a mall.
The Jordanian is accused of getting too close to the woman and pressing his body against hers.
The incident allegedly happened on November 7 last year.
The complainant, a 48-year-old tourist from the Netherlands, told the police she was watching the water show at a mall when she felt someone touching her from behind.
"The place was very crowded. I turned around and saw the accused standing right behind me. He pressed his body against mine and was behaving indecently."
"I slapped him on his shoulder. But he fled the place. I reported the incident to the security guards".
About an hour later, she spotted the defendant at the same place. She informed the guards and he was arrested.
However, her statement could not be taken in the public prosecution investigation as she had left the country.
The court will hand down a verdict on March 31.
