(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) Dubizzle, the leading classifieds website in the Middle East and North Africa, has published its Q4 2014 Jobs trends report for the UAE, offering insights on top industry trends, job-seeker profiles and most popular job role searches.
According to the report, the industries that posted the most job vacancies in 2014 were the sales and medical industries. When comparing the fourth quarter of 2014 to the same period in 2013, real estate and F&B had the highest increase in job creation. Secretarial jobs were the most in demand and received over 276,000 applications in the last three months of 2014.
The industries that look to benefit the most in terms of job creation from Expo 2020 were also highlighted. These include aviation, retail, transportation, construction and sales. According to published figures, more than 275,000 jobs are expected to be created to service Expo 2020 up until its launch; this is about as many job applications received in the sales industry alone in the fourth quarter of 2014 on dubizzle.
Ann Boothello, product marketing manager for jobs at dubizzle, said: "Dubizzle's job section currently receives over 3.1 million visits a month and we are anticipating a growth in this figure over the coming months. With that said, we recently launched a new dashboard to help recruiters better manage their ads and candidates; our job tech gurus have plans in place to develop our product offering continuously."
The report also gives an overview of the job seekers on dubizzle for 2014. In terms of qualifications, 59 per cent hold a bachelor's degree and 18 per cent hold a master's degree. As for the demographic breakdown, 56 per cent of them are between 26 to 35 years of age, while 32 per cent are female and the rest are male. It's important to note that 75 per cent of the candidates applying through dubizzle are based in the UAE.
Dubizzle.com is ranked as the eighth most0visited website in the UAE according to alexa.com, with four million unique visitors a month.
