Indonesia's trade surplus hits USD700m in February


(MENAFN) According to the national statistics bureau, Indonesia recorded trade surplus in February for the third consecutive month as import weakened significantly, Xinhua reported.

The trade performance reached USD700 million surplus in February, slightly lower from USD709.4 million at the previous month, head of the bureau said in an announcement.

Indonesia's import fell by 16.24 percent to USD11.55 billion in February on year, and was down by 8.42 percent on month, the head told a press conference at the bureau headquarters.

Export persisted to be weak for the fifth straight month by 16. 0 percent to USD12.29 billion in February on yearly basis, and was down by 8.0 percent on month, he said.
