Canada's unemployment up to 6.8 percent in February

(MENAFN) Canada's unemployment rate rose 0.2 percent to 6.8 percent in February, reflecting in part the impact of slumping oil prices on the natural resources sector, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

However, employment rate was flat during the month, as that for men aging 55 and older was little changed in the situation of other demographic groups, according to data by Statistics Canada.

Overall, there were fewer people working in manufacturing, natural resources, and information, culture and recreation, but there were gains in construction and educational services.
