Jordanian economic delegation to visit Oman tomorrow


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) An economic delegation, representing the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA), will Sunday start a two-day working visit to the Sultanate of Oman to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two countries in an effort to stimulate trade and explore economic opportunities.

The delegation, which includes 15 Jordanian businessmen headed by the JBA's Chairman Hamdi Tabba'a, will meet a number of officials in Oman and the chairman and members of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI).

According to a JBA press release, the Jordanian delegation will brief the Omani side on the investment environment in the Kingdom through a presentation by the Jordan Investment Board (JIB), and inform Omani businessmen on the promising investment opportunities in Jordan, Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority (ASEZA) and the Jordan Industrial Estates Corporation (JIEC).

The delegation will also examine investment opportunities in Oman and its progress in the field of industrial cities and free zones. It will also visit Rusayl Industrial Estate, 45 km west of Oman's capital Muscat, Duqm Special Economic Zone Authority, and Knowledge Oasis Muscat (KOM).

On the sidelines of the visit, the JBA and the OCCI will sign a joint memorandum of understanding to cement relations between the two bodies and promote mutual economic and trade cooperation.

The Jordanian delegation will represent the fields of construction, energy, water consulting and engineering services, telecommunications, information technology, banking and financial markets sectors among others.
