BMW logs record sales, revenue for 5th straight year


(MENAFN) German automaker BMW Group announced posting a fifth consecutive record year of sales volume, revenue and group earnings, Xinhua reported.

Sales volume surpassed the 2 million mark for the first time in the group's history to reach 2,117,965 units last year. The figure climbed 7.9 percent compared to 2013.

The automaker said that a total of 658,384 units were sold in the Asian market, while sales in China rose to 456,732 units, marking an annual increase of 16.6 percent.

Revenue of the company expanded by 5.7 percent to USD85.2 billion last year, while net profit improved by 9.2 percent to USD6.08 billion, marking a new record for the group.

"We continued to perform well during the past year, achieving new highs for sales volume, revenues and group earnings," chairman of the board of management said.
