Top CAS official visits Oman


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The Oman Olympic Committee (OOC) hosted Matthieu Reeb the secretary-general of Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) on Tuesday.

Reeb's visit to the region comes as part of the GCC Olympic Committees' efforts to finalise the draft for the national disputes and sports arbitration tribunal and also to approve the proposed draft of the sports tribunal set up by the OOC.

Reeb met Sheikh Saif al Hosni the OOC vice-chairman Taha al Kishry the OOC secretary-general Sheikh Abdulwahab al Hinai the head of the OOC's legal team and Ziyad al Balushi a member of the legal department of the Ministry of Sports Affairs.

The OOC will present the draft for approval from its members at its forthcoming annual general meeting on March 31.

Before visiting Oman Reeb had touched down in Saudi Arabia Bahrain and UAE. He will wrap up his Gulf trip with a visit to Qatar on Thursday.
