Riyadh recalls Sweden envoy
(MENAFN- Arab News) Saudi Arabia has recalled its ambassador from Sweden after a diplomatic row between the two countries.
''The move to recall Ambassador Ibrahim S. Al-Ibrahim was prompted by remarks made by the Swedish foreign minister that amounted to interference in the internal affairs of the Kingdom in violation of international covenants and diplomatic conventions'' said SPA Wednesday.
Al-Ibrahim is also the non-resident Saudi ambassador to Ireland.
The rift is over Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom''s criticism of a case involving a Saudi blogger convicted of insulting Islam and other issues in the Kingdom.
