Germany's E.ON registers net loss of USD3.4b in 2014


(MENAFN) Germany's E.ON suffered a net loss of USD3.4 billion in 2014, compared with a profit of USD2.30 billion a year earlier, the company showed, QNA reported.

The loss, the biggest since it was formed by the merger of German power groups VEBA and VIAG in 2000, was triggered by USD5.81 billion in impairment charges on power plants, including assets in Britain, Sweden and Italy.

The company expects 2015 earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) of USD7.54- 8.18 billion, down from USD8.94 billion last year.
