Iran's GDP is seen to grow 2.5 percent next year


(MENAFN) The head of the Management and Planning Organization said that Iran's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to grow 2.5 percent in the next Iranian year, Tehran Times reported.

The country's GDP grew 4 percent in the first half of the current Iranian calendar year, which began in March 21 of 2014, the ISNA news agency quoted the head of the organization as saying.

The Development Plan (2010-2015) has forecast a GDP growth of 8 percent, after the GDP grew 3 percent in 2010, but contracted 6.8 percent and 1.9 percent in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

The World Bank forecasted that Iran's GDP will grow 2 percent and 2.3 percent in 2015 and 2016, respectively. The country's GDP amounted to USD28.5 billion in the first half of the year.
