Croatia's exports grow 8.7 percent in 2014


(MENAFN) According to figures released by the National Statistics Office (DZS), Croatian exports grew 8.7 percent in 2014 on-year, hitting USD11.1 billion, Xinhua reported.

Meanwhile, imports reached USD18.4 billion, accounting for a 4.3 percent increase from 2013. Foreign direct investment amounted to USD7.27 billion, down 1.8 percent.

However, the country's exports in January 2015 dropped 7.24 percent over a year earlier. This marked the first fall since Croatia joined the European Union (EU) in July 2013.

At the same time, Croatia's imports in January of 2015 declined sharply by 15.78 percent compared with the same month of last year, the DZS released data showed.
