Oman to launch USD1.11b electricity projects in 2015


(MENAFN) Electricity companies in Oman, which are subsidiaries of Nama Group, will together invest USD1.11 billion in distribution and transmission projects in 2015, an official said, Times of Oman reported.

In 2014, the group spent more than USD957.55 million on transmission and distribution projects to extend the network to reach out to more customers and enforce the existing networks, chief executive officer of Nama Group (formerly known as Electricity Holding Group), said.

He was speaking at the second annual forum of contractors and suppliers in the electricity sector, organized by the Distribution Code Review Panel (DCRP), which came up with certain recommendations to enhance the performance of the sector and ensure the sustainability of power supply.
