German exports decline 2.1 percent in January

(MENAFN) A decrease in German exports caused the country's trade surplus to contract in January, official data showed, The Peninsula Qatar reported.

Exports declined 2.1 percent in January, reflecting a decrease in the trade surplus, the balance between imports and exports, the federal statistics office said in a statement.

Germany exported goods worth a total USD104 billion in January, down from USD106.64 billion in December.

That meant the seasonally adjusted trade surplus declined to USD21.35 billion in January from USD22.76 billion in December.
