DWC eyes Italian companies to attract foreign investment

(MENAFN) Dubai World Central (DWC) has concluded a series of business-to-business meetings with selected companies in Italy as part of its sustained drive to attract foreign investment, it said, Gulf News reported.

The delegation from DWC visited five Italian cities, which are Milan, Torino, Luca, Modena and Venice as part of the program.

"We have over 2,000 companies based at Dubai World Central, of which around 100 are of Italian origin. The objective of the tour was to demonstrate the exciting value proposition Dubai World Central holds for Italian and European businesses," vice-president for Business Park at Dubai World Central, said in a statement.

Data released by the Italian Embassy in Abu Dhabi showed that bilateral trade between the UAE and Italy amounted to USD9.33 billion in 2013, an annual growth of 5.1 percent, and 56 percent since 2010. In the same year, Italy's overall trade with the six GCC states amounted to USD23.89 billion.
