France to commit USD8.7b to boost EU economy

(MENAFN) French President announced that his country will commit USD8.7 billion as part of European Commission President's plan to drive economic growth, AFP reported.

EU leaders last December approved the broad outline of EC's President USD341.4 billion investment plan, intended to kick-start growth in Europe by financing hundreds of projects.

"To create an effect of leverage, the plan must attract other contributions, public contributions and private contributions, and I have announced that France will put in USD8.7 billion," France's President said.
