Car suicide bomber kills seven in Afghanistan


(MENAFN- Saudi Press Agency) Five civilians and two soldiers were killed in southern Afghanistan Tuesday when a suicide bomber detonated his explosives-laden car near an army convoy, officials said.
'The target was the convoy of army personnel in Sangin district,' said Farid Ahmad Obaid, police spokesman for the southern province of Helmand.
'At least four soldiers and three civilians were injured,' said Omar Zwak, the provincial governor's spokesman.
No one immediately claimed responsibility.
