Oman Post strike called off after meeting with minister


(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) The strike by Oman Post's employees across the country was called off on Tuesday following a meeting of representatives with  H E Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Salim al Futaisi Minister of Transport and Communications late on Monday.

'Work resumed today at 95 post offices in Oman. The minister who convened the meeting yesterday agreed to look into the grievances of employees. Following the assurance from the minister the strike was called off today' a senior Oman Post employee told Muscat Daily.

'The minister has promised to find a solution to the issue' the staff member added. The employees were protesting against the proposal to privatise postal services.
