Italy's unemployment rate down 0.1 percent


(MENAFN) According to the national statistics institute (Istat), Italy's unemployment rate dropped by 0.1 percent for the second months in a row in January, Xinhua reported.

Unemployment in the country stood at 12.6 percent in January, which was the same level as a year earlier, while a total of 11,000 jobs were created over December, Istat data showed.

In January of this year, the unemployment rate for those aged between 15 and 24 declined to 41.2 percent from 41.4 percent registered in the previous month, the released data showed.

Meanwhile, on an annual basis, Istat estimated that the unemployment rate has increased to 12.7 percent last year, with a total of 22.3 million people employed, up 0.4 percent over 2013.
