Detours on Ajman's Shaikh Zayed Road for construction project


(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) The Ajman Police have initiated two detours as a first step towards executing the road construction project in line with the directives of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to improve infrastructure in the northern emirate.

The detours will be on Shaikh Zayed road between the Al Humaidiya and Al Muntazi areas to facilitate smooth traffic flow.

Major Said Al Falasy, Director of Traffic and Patrol Department at the Ajman Police, told Khaleej Times the two-lane road in both directions will be expanded to include a third lane as part of the project.

Traffic on Shaikh Zayed Road will be diverted from Al Humaidiya police station towards the bridge leading to Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed road.

He pointed out that the speed limit on the road has been reduced to 60kmph until the completion of the project, which will take between six to seven months.

He urged motorists to exercise caution while driving on the road.
