S. Korea's mobile internet market to worth USD40b in 2017

(MENAFN) South Korea's mobile internet market is estimated to be worth USD40 billion in 2017, driven by its advanced network coverage and robust demand for e-commerce apps, Yonhap News reported.

As of by the end of 2013, the mobile internet market reached USD28 billion for Asia's fourth-largest economy, accounting for around 2 percent of the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

The country will likely register a 10 percent expansion annually in its mobile internet growth over the next two year, with the size of its e-commerce forecast to grow 15 percent every year to USD7 billion.

"The mobile Internet economy has emerged as a major industry over the last five years, and we anticipate it will grow more rapidly in the future," the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) said.
