Renault Samsung Korea's sales up twofold in February


(MENAFN) Renault Samsung Motor Co. Korea said it posted sales surge by more than twofold in February over a year earlier, driven by its strong overseas sales, Yonhap News reported.

The Korean unit of French automaker Renault S.A. sold a total of 15,630 units last month, increasing 102.5 percent from the 7,717 units sold a year earlier, the automaker said.

Renault Samsung's vehicles sold abroad surged by 3.6-fold over the cited period to 10,426 units, as sales of the QM5 sport utility vehicles more than doubled to 4,053 units, the company said.

Sales on the home turf increased 7.9 percent to 5,204 units in the period. Its flagship SM5 midsize sedan and the SM3 compact car helped to keep up sales with 11.2 percent and 36.3 percent increases.
