Ssangyong Motors Korea's sales down 18.4 percent

(MENAFN) Ssangyong Motor Co. Korea said its February sales plunged 18.4 percent on-year as it scaled back shipments to Russia amid adverse exchange rate conditions, Yonhap News reported.

The Korean units of Indian sport utility vehicle (SUV) maker Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. combined domestic and overseas sales came to 9,574 units last month, down from 11,733 units on-year.

Exports plunged, with sales standing at 3,003 units, less than half of the 6,231 units that were sold in the previous year, as Ssangyong decided to cut back on its shipments to Russia due to the weakening ruble.
