Vietnam's newly registered FDI down 22.5 percent


(MENAFN) Newly registered foreign direct investment (FDI) in Vietnam dropped 22.5 percent since the beginning of this year over the same period a year earlier, Xinhua reported.

Total newly licensed and added FDI in the country as of February 20 reached USD1.192 billion, the Vietnamese ministry of planning and investment (MPI) said in released report.

A total of 148 FDI projects were granted licenses in the first two months of 2015, with registered capital of USD712.29 million, up 21.3 percent in volume and 14.3 percent in value.

According to February's report, however, an amount of USD480.5 million were added to 58 existing projects, dropping 32.2 percent in value and increasing 41.5 percent in volume.
