Omani student Amna shines in IATA aviation examination
IATA Training and Development Institute (ITDI) is an organisation of the international airlines located in Montreal Canada and offers globally recognised high standard professional training programmes for aviation and travel professionals worldwide. The consultant diploma is the second of the three levels of IATA/UFTAA intensive integrated Travel & Tourism Training Programme.
In order to maintain the highest standards of proficiency a candidate has to achieve 60 per cent marks to pass the exam and to achieve distinction a minimum of 85 per cent marks is a must. Amna has not only scored more than 85 per cent in this exam in the first attempt but she also directly appeared for level two. Along with her a total of 644 candidates from all over the world have qualified to appear for the consultant exam and just 33 of them passed the exam with distinction. Amna is the only student from Oman to shine among the list of top 5 per cent candidates worldwide. Her achievement in the December 2014 examination has been acknowledged by the head of training ITDI who said that she was one of the students who has performed best.
Amna has completed her graduation in religious studies and international relations from the Victoria University New Zealand with flying colours. She is currently working for Oman Air in the sales department and is also studying advanced level French.
