5000 students to take part in Jeddah forum
(MENAFN- Arab News) A conference of students showcasing their projects and achievements will be held at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) and Hilton Hotel in Jeddah from March 30 to April 2 under the patronage of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman.
More than 750 students from 42 Saudi universities and colleges are expected to take part in the conference said Ayman Al-Harbi its supervisor of the conference. Boys' events will be held at KAU while those of girls at Hilton he said.
The conference offers a good opportunity for Saudi students to demonstrate their various capabilities scientific innovations engineering projects and research works as well as pioneering enterprises.
The conference would support the government's efforts to transform the Kingdom into a knowledge economy. It has received the support of Education Minister Dr. Azzam Al-Dakhil and Abdullah Al-Fantoukh deputy minister for planning and information.
'This conference is held as part of the ministry's support for students' scientific innovations and research works' said Al-Harbi.
It will witness the exhibition of the best scientific innovations and research works from 42 universities and colleges in the country including pioneer projects documentaries and art works.
The conference will include seminars workshops training courses and exhibitions. Organizers expect it would attract more than 5000 students and teachers.
'Students from senior secondary schools will participate in the conference for the first time' said Al-Harbi.
'We have authorized the universities and colleges to select the best works of their students for display at the conference' he said.
