Saudi Monarch Patronizes 37th Edition of King Faisal International Prize


(MENAFN- QNA) The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud patronized here this evening the giving away ceremony of the 37th edition of King Faisal International Prize.

Dr. Zaker Abdulkareem Naik, Director of the Islamic Research Foundation in India, won the prize for the Service of Islam, while the prize in the field of Islamic studies went to Dr. Eng. Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Kaaki, Consultant at Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah Development Authority.

Professor Jeffrey Evan Gordon, Professor at Dr. Robert Glezers Chair and Director of Genes and Bio-systems science center at the University of Washington, St Luis, U.S.A. was awarded the prize in the field of medicine.

In the field of Chemistry, the prize was given to Professor Michael Gratzel, Director of Physical Chemistry Institute lab, an affiliate of the Federal Swiss Institute for Technology; Professor Omar Muanes Yaghi, at the Physical-sciences chair at the University of California, also won the prize in the field of science.
