India to boost spending on infrastructure by USD11.3b in 2015


(MENAFN) The Indian government unveiled a business-friendly budget aimed at attracting greater investment for the economy and fostering more growth, BBC reported.

Finance Minister announced that spending on infrastructure will be raised by USD11.3 billion to boost economic growth. He also announced that five power projects of 4,000 megawatts (MW) will be built to sooth the energy crisis.

Hence, India is forecast to grow at a rate of more than 8 percent during 2015, as inflation rate is down and foreign exchange reserves are high, according to reports.

"We have turned around the economy, dramatically restoring macroeconomic stability and creating the conditions for sustainable poverty elimination and job creation," finance minister said.
