Oil derivatives to go up about 12% starting Sunday


(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency) Fuel prices will rise by about 12 per cent with effect from Sunday due to soaring global oil prices, but the price of cooking gas cylinders will remain unchanged, Minister of Industry and Trade Hatem Halawani announced Saturday.

The ministry's pricing committee, which reviews prices on a monthly basis, had set the new price of unleaded octane 90 gasoline at 585 fils per litre, up from the current price of 525 fils, while unleaded octane 90 gasoline will be sold at 740 fils, up from 660 fils, according to the minister.

The new price of kerosene and diesel oil, which are commonly used for heating, will rise to 455 fils per litre from the present price of 405 fils, he added.

The minister said that cooking gas cylinders will retain their current price of JD 8 per cylinder.
