(MENAFN- The Peninsula) The Community Policing Department organised the fifth Safe Spring Camp in Al Khor.
The camp events were held in association with Ras Laffan Industrial City Community Outreach Programme, Sea Shore Company and service and security departments at the Ministry of Interior and other companies operating in Al Shamal.
Brig. Nasser Jaber Al Noaimi, Director, Capital Security Department, inaugurated the camp in the presence of Brig. Muhammad Abdullah Al Shahwani, Director, North Security Department, Lt. Col. Ahmad Zayed Al Mohannadi, Director, Community Policing Department, officers from the ministry and representatives of participating companies and establishments.
Brig. Al Noaimi said the Interior Minister is always keen to hold community events to raise security awareness and promote a culture of secure society.
The camp aimed to reach out to communities and highlight the ministry's services and efforts towards a safe and stable society.
Brig. Al Shahwani said participation of a large number of new companies underscored the success of the previous camps.
Lt. Col. Al Mohannadi expressed pleasure and gratitude for wider participation of companies and the public.
The sponsors were honoured in the inaugural ceremony.
The Ras Laffan Industrial City Community Outreach Programme set up a stall with safety and security programmes.
Many other industrial companies and the ministry's departments also held activities.
Lekhwiya Police held a dog show to highlight police dogs' skills in identifying drugs and criminals.
Sports events and competitions were organised by Qatar Basketball Federation and Doha Golf Club and family entertainment programmes and awareness and educational competitions for children were held by Qatar Charity.
