Indonesia Includes Jorong Industrial Area In Quick Wins Program

JAKARTA February 26 2015— Jorong Industrial Area in South Kalimantan becomes a new comer in the industrial area quick wins initiated by Ministry of Industry.

Therefore there are currently 14 industrial area outside Java which become the main focus of the government as it was targeted to be13. There are another two industrial areas located in Java so in total there are 16 of them.

“To develop the industrial area is not easy” said Director General of Industrial Area Development at Ministry of Industry Imam Haryono Wednesday (2/25/2016). 

Imam explained that the driver industry at the area is mainly steel-based. The investment budget for the development is still being reviewed.

At present time there have been 13 areas initially included in the Quick Wins program with up to IDR192.44 trillion-worth capital need. Those areas are Teluk Bintuni (West Papua) Bitung (North Sulawesi) Palu (Central Sulawesi) Morowali (Central Sulawesi) and Konawe (central Sulawesi).

The others are East Halmahera (North Maluku) Bantaeng (South Sulawesi) Batulicin (South Kalimantan) Ketapang (West Kalimantan) Landak (West Kalimantan) Kuala Tanjung (North sumatra) Sei Mangkei (North Sumatra) and Tanggamus (Lampung).

“There were 13 industrial area to be targeted in Quick Wins. After considering other factor then we add another one namely Jorong” said Imam.

Quick Wins is a program initiated by the ministries and other state-institutions under President Joko Widodo's governance to immediately improve various sectors in Indonesia.

General Secretary of Ministry of Industry Ansari Bukhari said the investors dabbling in Jorong industrial area such as Gunung Garuda and Delta Prima Steel have some complaint.

On the other occassion Chairman of Industrial Area Association (HKI) Sanny Iskandar said that the goovernment or Ministry of Industry was required to improve the coordination with the other ministries and institutions in including the Jorong Industrial Area. Read more...
