Germany's unemployment drops in February


(MENAFN) Germany's unemployment showed a significant decrease in February after an improvement in growth in Europe's biggest economy, AFP reported.

In February, the number of unemployed German people dropped by a seasonally adjusted 20,000. The unemployment rate stood at 6.5 percent.

In an unadjusted terms, the jobless total decreased by 14,600 to 3.017 million and the jobless rate to 6.9 percent in February from 7.0 percent in January.

"The German economy expanded by 1.6 percent in 2014, thanks to robust growth at the start and at the end of the year," the office of labor said in a statement.
