Saudi- 4 Asian workers arrested for diverting garment shipment

(MENAFN- Arab News) Police have arrested a gang of four Asian workers who had allegedly stolen SR3 million worth of garments of a leading international company in the capital.

The four-member gang included three Indian drivers and a Pakistani who intended to sell the stolen garments in the open market.

It is alleged that the three Indian drivers brought garments to Riyadh from Bahrain in shipping containers and delivered the consignment to the Pakistani man instead of taking them to their rightful importer.

Special police forces in Riyadh apprehended the suspects while they were unloading the stolen goods at the warehouse of the Pakistani man who was expected to sell the goods to the local market and share the income among the four thieves.

Meanwhile an African national was arrested on Monday for brewing liquor and selling it in the local market. Police forces found 12 large barrels of liquor and tools used for the distillery. The police have used these events as an opportunity to reiterate its commitment to bringing criminals before the law as well as its intent to applying the necessary punishments to them according to the degree of their offense.
